As the name suggests, JustSimple is a very plain and simple wordpress theme.
Its very easy on the eyes.

Initially I thought of making it to use no images, but then I could not avoid that feed icon.

How do you use the author code?
I try accessing an author page (e.g. http://lilina.cubegames.net/author/admin/ ) but it just returns the homepage, not the archives page.
you should have an author.php, within the theme folder to make it happen.

Hi, I love this theme – it’s just beautiful in its simplicity. It’s just what I was looking for.
I have installed it on my site; however I was wondering if there was any way to get rid of the “xx posts and xx comments till now” feature on the banner. I’m using this template for a regular website (as opposed to a blog) and don’t really want it there. I’ve searched everywhere for a way to modify but to no avail.
And while I’m here – is there a way to get rid of the date, ‘uncategorized’ and ‘comments off’ option at the bottom of the post?

xx posts and xx comments is in header.php.
date and other stuff is in index.php, archive.php, search.php, and single.php. you need to remove it from all of them.

This is a great template!
However I looked for the option to switch the sidebat\s position to the right and I can’t find it. Should I change the CSS or can I do that with the Options page?
I really like the Template and chose it over many to setup the TEFAP newletter in a Blog.
I have had user complaints about the search outcome only giving the page Information where I set the “more” tag. They would prefer something more like the output from search engines like google, etc. where a section of the text where the search items are found to appear.
I installed the AdvanceSearch Plug-In in hopes of getting this type of result. (see http://www.zirona.com/software/wordpress-advanced-search/#install) but it only add a more explict way to search and gives the same type of result.
Any suggestions or advice what I can to do to get the requested out put would be appreciated.

I really like this simple theme. but I experience some left-shifting problem. Probably related to blockquote (?)
I have some posts with blockquote and some don’t. When I use this template, some posts, both subject and content, become left-shifted. A few characters of the blockquoted text shifted to the left of the quoted line. As for the non-quoted text, the head of each line shifted out of the box.
There is no problem in single post mode.
I’m not really sure what is wrong. I think I did nothing to the layout in style.css. The wordpress version is 2.1. The browser I use is IE.
I have not uploaded the blog, so sorry, there is no preview of the problem now.

we use the same theme on this site and it works with no issues.

Love the theme, but when I installed it in WordPress 2.1 (latest version) it reverts the post editor to allow e to only use tags and disables the WYSIWYG post editor. Even when I uninstall the theme I am unable to use the WYSIWYG editor with any other themes.
I’ve uninstalled and re-installed my blog twice, same error. Is anyone having the same problem? Any ideas/fixes?

There must be no link between the theme and WYSUWYG editor.
login into your wordpress and check your profile and see if you have
disabled Rich editor.

Is there any hint on what to validate?
As I said, I checked a few posts’ codes and found no problem. I don’t have time to validate every posts out there. In fact, I’ve made them as simple as possible already. I have tried some other themes that has no similar problem.

Hi! Thanks for this great theme! I’m currently changing the color scheme (shame on me, you did an excellent job, but I want it to be dark). I cannot find where to edit the outer border (the area where the footer is placed in). What does `#main` from the CSS-file refer to?

Love JustSimple and am using it on my site. But one small issue.
The padding on the left side is less than the padding on the right side. It appears to be fine on this page but even on the live preview http://themes.wordpress.net/testrun/?wptheme=1313 page, the problem is visible.
What to do?

Scott. If you are using FireFox and you have the NoScript add-on, it will give you problems with the WYSIWYG editor. Disable NoScript, or uninstall it.
This problem had me going round in circles. I found the answer on the WordPress support forums.
This theme does not mess with Rich Editor!

Just one critic, I think it would even look better if you can have the top-right pages links look like the ones in misty look. :)
I seem to be experiencing the same problem as jaja.
I validated my website (no problems) and disabled my AddThis and SphereIt widgets. Whatever I do, the left-shifting problem still exists w/ the JustSimple and Civilized themes. For some reason, these two are the only themes that I have which have this problem. Also, when I scroll over the links, the columns seem to automatically adjust for some reason. No other theme I have does this.

I found the answer to my problem, I’ll just leave the solution here for others with the same question.
In the CSS; go to #main , then change from, float: right; -to- float;left . then do the opposite within #sidebar . change from, float: left; -to- float;right . and save…
that should do the trick.

I like the simplicity of this theme and menu bar at the top right hand of the page is well optimised for click thru.

Thanks for the theme, which is exactly what I was looking for.
I have two issues that I need to solve, but I don`t know how to.
1. When reading one single post, the sidebar is not visible. It only shows at the main index. How do I solve this?
2. When reading one single post, the background changes. The white part of it doesn`t go all the way down – only a bit below the header. How do I solve this?

I’m just starting a new site using this theme, and noticed that it hasn’t been updated to WP2.3 as it is still using wp_categories to look up the asides. Is there any plans at all to upgrade the theme any time soon, if not, do you mind me upgrading to WP2.3 and leaving references & acknowledgments to you?
Lovely theme – had to make a few fixes (presumably some things in WordPress have changed since the theme’s creation) but it’s looking great now, thanks!
JustSimple is exactly what I was looking for – neat and clean :)
I’m experiencing a little problem when embedding youtube clips, if the post is “plain” just the embed html source the page totally messess up :D. But if there is a little text along with the clip everything is ok.
Can you give me another suggestion how to overcome this?
